Ground Congress on Apartment Law

From October 27 to 29, 2021, the Terzol Real Estate Land Congress will take place, with the theme “Apartment Law in Suriname.

This congress is a private initiative is of Terzol Vastgoed NV and is organized by Tabto Group NV.
The purpose of this congress is to increase the awareness and sense of urgency of the Apartment Law in order to accelerate the adoption of the Apartment Law Act.
Although the draft New Civil Code (NBW), which includes the Right of Apartment, was presented to the then President of Suriname in 2009, our country still has no Right of Apartment to date.
This while Apartment Law can significantly contribute to our needs for the sustainable development of good housing and living environments, the efficient use of our lands and a solution to runaway climate change.

Background on apartment law

As of 2017, Terzol Vastgoed NV offers integral services in the areas of purchase and sales brokerage, leasing and rental, appraisals, property management, subdivision, project development and consultancy to national and international corporate and private clients in Suriname.
Terzol is convinced that we agree that the Apartment Law Act is an urgent necessity in the interest of country and people.
The Apartment Law meets the needs of different target groups such as occupants, students, over-60s, expatriates, diaspora and entrepreneurs.
With the Apartment Right, large groups can be housed on a relatively smaller piece of land, reducing the loss of forest and allowing us to truly become more sustainable.
Now is the time for action.
As project developer of Suriname’s newest and most prestigious ‘city in the city,’ Ring Harbour, Terzol Vastgoed asked the question in an earlier publication what we are all going to do to make the Apartment Right a reality soon.
Terzol Vastgoed is already answering this question with this Congress by bringing together various sectors to inform each other and society and to debate with other experts on this subject so that concretization will soon become a reality.
