The Apartment Law: Efficient use of our lands
Effective land development in Suriname
Apartment buildings can offer many advantages and are also cheaper to construct, especially where land is expensive.
An apartment tower also requires less land to accommodate large groups.
In addition, putting apartments up for sale will reduce the demand for land.
In New York in the 1960s, people bought up large residential areas and built apartment towers.
People who sold their land and house could buy an apartment.
A lot of land was released that was converted into walking parks, parking areas, playgrounds, sports facilities, etc.
This is also possible in Suriname.
A good example is the Oldenburg project at Ringweg Noord, where 120 houses were built on an area of 10 ha of land, while 4 ha would have been sufficient if apartments had been built.
On the remaining 6 ha there could be a university, a nature park and perhaps a large lake or “pan” that could serve as water storage.
At the Terzol Real Estate Land Congress with the theme of Apartment Law, Mr. Ramon Kadirbaks will also speak.
Mr.
Kadirbaks is Deputy Director of Spatial Planning at the Ministry of Spatial Planning and Environment and will talk about the role of the Ministry of Spatial Planning and Environment in developing land in Suriname in the most effective way.
We express our thanks to Mr. Kadirbaks for his willingness to address the Surinamese people during this Congress.
